Intermediate Knitting: Colorwork Hat 

Date: January 25 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM and February 22 10:30 AM -12:30 PM

In this class, we'll look at the basics of stranded colorwork.  We'll discuss how to read a color chart and we'll look at different methods for holding your yarn and ways to help keep you tension even.  

Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable knitting, purling, and working in the round. 

Materials:

  • US 3 (3.25mm) & US 5 (3.75mm) 16” circular needles
  • 1 stitch marker
  • 328 yards (300 m) - 100 g of Sport weight yarn (MC in pattern)
  • 200 yards (183 m) - 100 g of Sport weight yarn (CC in pattern)
  • Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter

Homework: Purchase pattern and materials, cast on and knit ribbing for brim of hat.
