Class 11/12 - Loving Lace: Tips & Techniques
November 12th 10:30-12:30
Lace knitting can be intimidating and seem out of reach when you see intricate patterns, pages of charts and symbols of all sorts. We'll break down the information and gain a better understanding of just what goes into creating lace.
We will be knitting from written instructions as well as charts and discussing the differences between knitting in the round and knitting flat. We'll go over some tips and trick for making knitting lace easier and less stressful. Yarns can make a big difference in the finished knitted piece when it comes to lace, we will talk about what makes a good lace yarn and what to look for when you are picking yarn for your project.
- Please bring worsted weight yarn, medium to light color is easiest to work with and see your stitches, we will be knitting some swatches to begin.
- US Size 7-9 needles (needle size isn't critical for the swatch knitting)
- If you have patterns and yarn that you have been wanting to use for a lace knitting project, bring them along and we can get you started with your project.
