Class - Relationship Advice: Yarn + Needles = Gauge
Saturday, July 30th 30th, 10:30-12:30pm
Please join us for this class designed to explain the uses of gauge, and simplify the math needed to create the perfect fabric every time. We will talk you through the confusion, explain why it's so important, and help you explore tips, tools, and techniques. This class will help you understand the beginnings of pattern manipulation to fit you and your knitting techniques.
This is an advanced beginner class – you should be confident with knit and purl stitches and have made some small projects (scarves, hats, or more advanced projects). Skills you will learn/practice: reading patterns and understanding terminology, calculating "your" gauge, participate in yarn/needle "tasting" to explore first-hand the effects of shifting either on your fabric.
Materials for class: Varying needle sizes (small, medium, large = US 3, US 7, US10 or similar range), scrap worsted weight yarn in varying weights (fingering, DK, worsted, bulky), stitch gauge or ruler or tape measure.
One session, two hours, suitable for Advanced Beginners.
All students will be given a 15% discount on yarn supplies for the class (with the exception of a few yarn brands). Please let us know at the time you are checking out that you are taking this class so that we will be sure to give you the discount!
Cancellations can be made for a complete refund 10 days before the date of the class. Must Love Yarn reserves the right to cancel the class if the minimum number of students is not met, at that time a full refund will be given to any students who have registered.
