Class - Cables Without Fear
Saturday, October 16 & 30, 1:30-3:30pm
Please join us for this series of classes designed to demystify cabling. You will make a cabled hat, suitable as a gift or to wear yourself.
This is an advanced beginner class – you should be confident with knit and purl stitches, and have a bit of experience knitting in the round and using increase/decrease stitches. Skills you will learn/practice: Knitting in the round with circular and double point needles (or “magic loop” technique), using cable needles or stitch markers to hold stitches in the front and back of your work, decreasing the crown of your hat while maintaining patterns, using double point needles or magic loop to complete crown decreases.
Materials: US 8 needle, either a 32” circular for magic loop, or a 16” circular and double points, one skein worsted weight yarn, locking stitch markers, darning needle and scissors for weaving in ends.
Two sessions, two hours each, suitable for Advanced Beginners.
All students will be given a 15% discount on yarn supplies for the class (with the exception of a few yarn brands). Please let us know at the time you are checking out that you are taking this class so that we will be sure to give you the discount!
